For the NYC racers, Floyd Bennet Field is like racing our Roubaix course. The tarmac is rough, with some potholes and cement junctions that host the growth of weeds. The course is square and created in an open field that includes an ex airplane landing strips. The omnipresent wind, sometime quite strong, makes the race very technical and it forces the peloton to stretch in a different way after each corner. By being so challenging the FBF course offers to racers the rare opportunity in NYC to display their skills in drafting while constantly adjusting his/her riding path toward smoother tarmac.
